Turkish-Iraq-US security committe reiterates strong commitment to combat PKK
The fifth meeting of the trilateral security committee between Turkey, Iraq and the US was held on Sunday in Istanbul, with delegations headed by Interior Minister Besir Atalay, Iraqi National Security Minister Shirvan Al Waili, and US Major General Joseph Anderson. "Participants had a useful exchange of views on the work of the Trilateral Security Committee and reiterated their strong commitment to combat PKK terrorism," said a US Embassy statement. They agreed on a trilateral action plan setting out the guidelines for the committee's future work and actions that should be taken to facilitate joint efforts against the PKK, added the embassy. The participants expressed their commitment to work on rapid implementation of the plan, it said.
