The Turkish Red Crescent (Kizilay) is ready to send humanitarian aid to Syria, Ahmet Lutfi Akar, director general of the aid organization said. "Some of our logistic is available on the border. If needed, we can offer help to Syrian people," Akar said. Stating that Kizilay has been operating for a year in southeastern province of Hatay and provided 10,000 people with catering services, Akar said, "We have been also fulfilling psycho-social, education and food needs of those people. We have six tent cities there". Akar stressed that Kizilay was capable of bringing aid to Homes, saying, "We have extended humanitarian aid materials to Syrian people on our border, without crossing it. We are also capable of entering Syria, but such developments will occur in line with preferences of our state. We met with Valerie Amos, UN Under-General-Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, a while ago and discussed our capacity and what we could do there."
