The Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) has published an introductory booklet in order to contribute to communication and promotion efforts exerted by Turkey. The booklet, consisting of articles in many issues including tourism, arts, young entrepreneurs and economy in Turkey, was promoted at the Turkish-German CEO Forum in Berlin yesterday. TUSIAD Chairperson Umit Boyner, who has written the introductory chapter of booklet, said in her opening speech of the forum that the Turkish business world was certain more than ever that Turkey will become one of the best democracies and economies in the world as soon as possible. Boyner said that Turkey was willing to join a strong EU and that Turkey's EU membership would further enrich the relationships between Turkey and Germany. She added that concerns about the issue should be removed and Turkey's membership should be considered a great opportunity. Speaking at the opening ceremony, German Industrialists' Federation (BDI) Chairman Hans Peter Keitel said that European countries needed a strong partner like Turkey in terms of the developments occurring in Mediterranean countries. Stating that Turkey has strengthened its budget and made great economic achievements, Keitel said that Europe should be made more attractive to Turkey so that Turkey doesn't give up its EU membership bid, once membership doors are opened to Turkey in the future.
