UN General assembly kicks off in New York
The UN General Assembly kicked off yesterday in New York, where Turkey has been represented by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in place of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the first time on the foreign ministerial level since 1996. As part of his contacts in New York, Davutoglu held bilateral talks with his German, Brazilian, Algerian, Romanian, Swedish and South Sudan counterparts. Davutoglu also signed the third additional protocol of Convention on the Rights of Child of the UN. Afterwards, Davutoglu attended a reception which was organized by US President Barack Obama in the honor of delegation heads at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
