US joint chief vice chairman visits Turkey

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Vice Chairman Gen. James Cartwright yesterday paid a surprise visit to Ankara. Cartwright, responsible for providing coordinating intelligence-sharing between şe two countries in şe fight against şe terrorist PKK, visited General Staff headquarters and met wiş Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. Ergin Saygun. During şeir meeting, issues such as cooperation against şe PKK and security problems in Iraq were reportedly discussed.
