Yıldırım: "Turkey connects three continents"

Speaking at the 12th CeBIT Eurasia Informatics Fair in Istanbul, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said yesterday that Turkey has become a country of transit which connects the three continents in terms of communication, as well as an important center where information could be collected and distributed. "The broad band Internet access has increased by 800 folds worldwide and 7,770 folds in Turkey in the last ten years," said Yildirim. Stating that Azerbaijan is the partner country this year, Yildirim added that the fair showed that Turkey's responsibility in the region is gradually increasing and that it would make great contributions to countries in the region in terms of informatics. Speaking in his part, Fair's Director Murat Ozer said that the fair to be participated by 16 countries and visited by visitors from 67 countries was expected to create economy amounting to or surpassing 5 billion American dollars.
